Adventure Group/Small Group Orientation - THIS Sabbath
This coming Sabbath afternoon, October 29th, we will have an adventure group/small group orientation for all those who are interested in finding out more information about being part of or leading out it an 'adventure' group or small group. We invite all those interested in or currently leading a group to come. All those who are interested should RSVP to Pastor John or Pastor Simon. We will meet at 1:45 p.m. in the youth room for lunch and our orientation will follow.
Bridal Shower for Casey-This Sat Nite
Ben & Casey will soon be getting hitched and we want to celebrate with Casey!! All women are invited to Casey's Bridal Shower this coming Saturday night, October 29, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Simone Buttler's house (2745 Tumbleweed Ave., Simi Valley, CA.) Youth Soccer - This Sunday
Youth Sunday soccer league continues this Sunday. The remaining four games will be played at the NPAA field. For information or to register, call Jason Mosley @ 310-824-3816. The cost is $30. The cost includes uniforms, equipment, and basic insurance. Kids will need their own cleats and shin guards.
Fall Fest Next Saurday night
Our annual Fall/Harvest Fest is almost one week away! Please join us on Saturday night, November 5th for a big 60's party at the NPAA cafeteria. Everyone is invited and we always have an awesome time! There will be food, fun, and awesome music by our very own Place band. We invite you to sign up this Sabbath to bring a dish to share. The fun starts at 5:30 p.m. We invite EVERYONE to dress up. Kids can wear their costumes and adults can dress up with their best '60's attire!
Prayer Ministry - Do you want to pray or be prayed for?
Our prayer ministry would like to pray for you! Do you have a request or praise that you would like to share with the team? If so, we invite you to stay after church and get prayed over or to pray over someone else. The Place Junior High
Come to Sabbath School @ 10:30am! While you're there add your name to the list to attend BELIEVE! - a two day youth conference just for junior highers on January 27- January 28. For more info check out: www.ciy.com/believe
Upcoming Events: NEXT (small group discipleship) will begin on November 5th @ 9:30 a.m. to study the theme, "Hearing God's Call." Save the date: Saturday, November 12th Juniors/Junior Highers (and any families who want to join) will be serving at The Children's Hunger Fund.
Baja Fresh Donates to The Place - ANY day at any time!!
Eat at Baja Fresh in Newbury Park and they will donate 25% of the cost of your meal to The Place. There are flyers on the outside tables at church for you to take and present when placing your order. This applies to any meal on any day. Thank you Baja Fresh!
L.A. Kings Game
Once again we have 40 group tickets for the Kings v. Blackhawks game on Saturday night, November 26th. Tickets are $29 per person. If you would like to go to the game, please sign up this Sabbath.
Baby Shower for Simone
Please mark your calendars as we will be celebrating with another soon to be mommy! All women are invited to join us for a bridal shower brunch to celebrate with Simone Buttler as she eagerly anticipates the birth of her first daughter. The shower will be on Sunday, November 6th at Simone's home in Simi Valley and will begin at 11 a.m. More details will follow.
Interested in baptismal studies or learning how to lead people in Bible study?
Starting next week November 5th, Pastor Simon will begin a new class on Sabbath mornings at 10:30 a.m. The class will focus on those who would like to study towards baptism or have questions about what the Bible teaches. He will also be teaching people how to lead Bible studies. If you would are interested or have any questions, please contact Pastor Simon.
Women's Ministry Monday Night Meetings
Ladies of any and all ages, you are invited to use your skills and talents and time to help in our new women's ministry! No prior experience necessary: Song leaders - ladies who love to sing praises and prayers to God! Sound techies - ladies who want to share their knowledge or learn how to run a soundboard and setup basic sound equipment for 1 or 2 microphones. Small group or adventure group leaders- ladies if you are currently leading and/or want to start up a women's small or adventure group, please plan on coming and sharing your awesome ideas and thoughts. Share the love groups
We are beginning a new ministry at The Place under the leadership of Rob Randall. Share the love groups will help us connect with people who are not very well connected at The Place.
