This Week at The Place
We look forward to seeing you this coming Sabbath at The Place. This Sabbath Pastor Simon will continue his series The Great Adventure
with a sermon titled "Who Do You Say I Am?"; a sermon that will focus
on Luke 9:1-36. We look forward to having Pastor John and the
collegiate band lead us in praise and worship.
We
welcome Pastor John and Melissa Lubke and Ian Dickerson into membership
and Dawn Lyman will introduce our new church management system. We
invite you to stay after church services as the cafe will be open with
snacks and refreshments.
We
invite you to Sabbath school starting at 10:30 a.m. We have several
classes ranging from cradle roll class to adult classes...and a new
collegiate class! We have something for everyone! We hope you’ll stop by
and be blessed.
Our
prayer ministry meets every Sabbath morning at 10:00 a.m. to pray for
the various ministries taking place that morning. If you are interested
and can make it to the meeting, please join us; or you can pray for us
from wherever you may be at 10:00 a.m. We love and appreciate any and
all prayers.

Happenings |
Children's Church This Week
All
youngsters are invited to attend Children's Church this coming Sabbath
starting at 12 noon (following worship in the Sanctuary.) Sherry
Jackson will lead out. Please take or send your child or children to
the fellowship hall for an hour filled with a bible story, craft, snack
and more.
Sacred Cinema-Next Friday
Sacred Cinema
will take place next Friday, November 18th at The Place. Please join us
(and bring a friend) as we will be viewing the same movie we watched
last time, "Everything is Spiritual" by Rob Bell. So many of those who
saw the film wanted to invite a friend that we are showing it
again! The evening will start at 6:30 p.m. and snacks and refreshments
will be served.
Fellowship Luncheon Next Sabbath
Please
join us for our next fellowship luncheon happening next Sabbath,
November 19th. This month we will have a Thanksgiving theme. Please
bring food to share to ensure we have a wonderful and plentiful Sabbath
lunch.
Interested in baptismal studies or learning how to lead people in Bible study? Not too late
Last
Sabbath Pastor Simon began a new class on Sabbath mornings at 10:30 a.m
and it is not too late to join! The class will focus on those who would
like to study towards baptism or have questions about what the Bible
teaches. He will also be teaching people how to lead Bible studies. If
you are interested or have any questions, please contact Pastor Simon.
Piano Recital Next Sabbath
Everyone
is invited to come to a piano recital of sacred music next Sabbath,
November 19th at The Place in the Sanctuary. The following students of
Randall Goulard will be sharing their music from 3-4:30 p.m.

Liversidge, Nolan Shea, and Abby Siver.

Our
prayer ministry would like to pray for you! Do you have a request or
praise that you would like to share with the team? If so, we invite you

Christmas Shoppe
It's that time of
the year again...we are gearing up to participate in this year's
Christmas Shoppe happening next month. Starting next week, you can
bring an unwrapped toy for an under-privileged child and deposit it in a
box in the church lobby. If you would like to volunteer to set up for
the actual Christmas Shoppe on Friday night, December 9th or Sabbath,
December 10th, please sign up or contact Debby Moon @ 805-689-1293.
This is a wonderful program benefitting families in Ventura County who
would otherwise not be able to provide presents for their kids.
Baja Fresh Donates to The Place - ANY day at any time!!
Eat
at Baja Fresh in Newbury Park and they will donate 25% of the cost of
your meal to The Place. There are flyers on the outside tables at church
for you to take and present when placing your order. This applies to
any meal on any day. Thank you Baja Fresh!
Soccer & Flag Football This Sunday
The children's
soccer league games will continue this Sunday at the NPAA field at 10
a.m. as well as the flag football games (for adults) beginning at 11:30
a.m.
L.A. Kings Game
Once
again we have 40 group tickets for the Kings v. Blackhawks game on
Saturday night, November 26th. Tickets are $29 per person. If you would
like to go to the game, please sign up this Sabbath.
Women's Ministry Meeting-Monday Nights
Ladies of any and
all ages, you are invited to use your skills and talents and time to

New Member/Welcome To The Place - Nov. 19th
We
invite all new members and any others interested in finding their
spiritual gifts and place in ministry at The Place to attend a "Welcome
to The Place/Find your spiritual gifts" seminar on Sabbath afternoon,
November 19th at 2:00 p.m. at The Place. Contact Pastor Simon or sign up
this Sabbath. Pastor Simon and Elder Bill Werner will lead out.
Financial Update for October
In
October we received $18,509 in giving towards our local church budget
items. We also received $17,401 in giving for tithe which goes to the
Southern California Conference. Thanks for your continued support of
The Place and our ministry in our community. As 2011 draws to an end we
invite your continued enthusiasm in giving for our church and our
mission. We continue to pray and dream of having our own church
facility!

Come be connected with each other through one of our young
adult small groups. We have two going right now, one that meets on
Fridays and one on Tuesdays.
Friday night is hosted by Brent and Simone Buttler (909) 528-3883,
and meets at 7 pm in Simi Valley and the other meets every Tuesday at
the Starbucks on Moorpark Rd. @ Thousand Oaks Blvd. Contact Randall

SAVE THE DATE
On the afternoon of Sabbath Dec. we'll be heading back to
the Westlake Healthcare Center but this time we'll be putting on a
Christmas program/party (Yes, Christmas season is already upon us!) Stay
tuned for more details but if you have something to share (music, a
christmas poem or story etc) then please plan to be in the program. But
we need EVERYONE to help us with decorating, food and just bringin
Christmas cheer to the folks there, they will love it! Dec. 10 at 3 pm!

This Week at The Place

We look forward to having Randall Goulard lead us in praise and worship. We will have the CAES 5th-8th grade choir sharing songs with us; and also a baby dedication of Taylor Rice by parents Jonathan and Rebekah - and a spiritual dance in celebration by Rebekah Rice.
We invite you to stay after church services as the cafe will be open with snacks and refreshments.

Fall Fest This Saturday Night
EVERYONE is invited to our annual Fall/Harvest Fest this Saturday night. Please join us for a big 60's party at the NPAA cafeteria. Everyone is welcome and invited to bring a FRIEND...we always have an awesome time! There will be food, fun, and smokin' 60's music by our very own Place band. We invite you to bring a dish to share...soup is on...or bring a dish or dessert to go with soup. The fun starts at 5:30 p.m. We invite EVERYONE to dress up. Kids can wear their costumes and adults can dress up with their best '60's attire!
Jog-a-thon This Sunday
CAES Annual Jog-a-thon is this Sunday. Their goal is $35,000.00 to help worthy students attend and get an SDA education. The Jog-a-thon will be at NPAA and starts at 8:00 am and concludes by 12:00 noon. Please park on the street or in the CAES parking lot. We invite you to come out and support the kids as they run...or sponsor a child to run!
No Soccer/Flag Football on Sunday
There will be no soccer or flag football this Sunday due to the CAES jog-a-thon. All games will resume next Sunday, November 13th.
Interested in baptismal studies or learning how to lead people in Bible study? Starts this Sabbath
Starting THIS week November 5th, Pastor Simon will begin a new class on Sabbath mornings at 10:30 a.m. The class will focus on those who would like to study towards baptism or have questions about what the Bible teaches. He will also be teaching people how to lead Bible studies. If you would are interested or have any questions, please contact Pastor Simon.
Baby Shower for Simone-This Sunday Morning
Please mark your calendars as we will be celebrating with another soon to be mommy! All women are invited to join us for a baby shower brunch to celebrate with Simone Buttler as she eagerly anticipates the birth of her first daughter. The shower will be THIS Sunday, November 6th at Simone's home (2745 Tumbleweed Ave., Simi Valley, CA.) and will begin at 11 a.m.

Piano Recital at The Place
As many of you know our own Randall Goulard has been giving piano lessons to our kids at The Place for a year now...which means it's time for a recital so they can share with us all that they've learned, and glorify God with their music!! Come to The Place on Sabbath afternoon Nov. 19 from 3-4:30 pm to support these 10 kids...they've all been working very hard and you will be blessed!
L.A. Kings Game

Congrats to Ben & Casey
