This Week at The Place

Our prayer ministry meets every Sabbath morning at 10:00 a.m. to pray for the various ministries taking place that morning. If you are interested and can make it to the meeting, please join us; or you can pray for us from wherever you may be at 10:00 a.m. We love and appreciate any and all prayers.

Fellowship Luncheon This Sabbath

Sacred Cinema-This Friday

Last Sabbath Pastor Simon began a new class on Sabbath mornings at 10:30 a.m and it is not too late to join! The class will focus on those who would like to study towards baptism or have questions about what the Bible teaches. He will also be teaching people how to lead Bible studies.  If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Pastor Simon.

Our prayer ministry would like to pray for you! Do you have a request or praise that you would like to share with the team? If so, we invite you to stay after church and get prayed over or to pray over someone else.  If you would like to join our prayer ministry team, please contact Suzanne Aiken (the coordinator) for more information.  

Christmas Shoppe-Bring a gift or volunteer to help this Sabbath

It's that time of the year again...we are gearing up to participate in this year's Christmas Shoppe happening next month.  Starting this week, you can bring an unwrapped toy for an under-privileged child and deposit it in a box in the church lobby.  If you would like to volunteer to set up for the actual Christmas Shoppe on Thursday or Friday night, December 8- 9th or Sabbath, December 10th, please sign up or contact Debby Moon @ 805-689-1293. This is a wonderful program benefitting families in Ventura County who would otherwise not be able to provide presents for their kids.

Baptisms/Picnic at the beach Next Sabbath

All are invited to a picnic fellowship lunch next Sabbath followed by the baptisms of Matthew Negley and Gabrielle Lyman.  These two amazing young people have decided to follow Jesus and we are ecstatic to celebrate with them!!  The picnic and baptisms will take place at Sycamore Cove and will begin at 2:30 p.m. Please bring a dish to share and come and join the joy.

Baja Fresh Donates to The Place - ANY day at any time!!

Eat at Baja Fresh in Newbury Park and they will donate 25% of the cost of your meal to The Place. There are flyers on the outside tables at church for you to take and present when placing your order. This applies to any meal on any day. Thank you Baja Fresh!

Soccer & Flag Football This Sunday

The children's soccer league games will conclude this Sunday at the NPAA field at 10 a.m.  The league will begin again in the spring.  However, the game will be cancelled if there is inclement weather.  

Adults are welcome to come out and play flag football beginning at 11:30 a.m.

L.A. Kings Game - next Saturday night

Once again we have 40 group tickets for the Kings v. Blackhawks game on Saturday night, November 26th. Tickets are $29 per person (but the price is NEGOTIABLE as we want people to be able to enjoy this great game against the current NHL champions.)  If you would like to go to the game, please sign up this Sabbath or contact Debby Moon.   

Women's Ministry Meeting-Monday Nights

Ladies of any and all ages, you are invited to use your skills and talents and time to help in our new women's ministry! Financial Update for October 

In October we received $18,509 in giving towards our local church budget items.  We also received $17,401 in giving for tithe which goes to the Southern California Conference.  Thanks for your continued support of The Place and our ministry in our community. As 2011 draws to an end we invite your continued enthusiasm in giving for our church and our mission.  We continue to pray and dream of having our own church facility!

SABBATH SCHOOL THIS WEEK

Come check out our YA sabbath school...We meet every Sabbath morning at 10:30 am in the bookstore at the back of the church. Randall will lead our study in Luke...come out and join us, expand your mind!!

HIKE TO MT. BONY for YAs and COLLEGIATES THIS SABBATH AFTERNOON

FLAG FOOTBALL ON SUNDAYS

It's football season so we are playing!! Just about every Sunday INCLUDING THIS ONE at the NPAA field (180 Academy Dr. Newbury Park 91320). You don't have to be good, just come have fun and be ready to run!! 11:30 am...be there!!

HOUSEWARMING and FOOTBALL PARTY AT RANDY'S THIS SUNDAY!!

Yup, as most of you know by now Randy has moved...so we'll be having a housewarming/football extravaganza THIS SUNDAY Sunday Nov. 20 starting at 2 pm....come root for your favorite team and enjoy the first of many gatherings at Randy's new place! We'll be watching the Bears vs. Chargers in the afternoon and the Giants vs. Eagles in the eve (1146 Azalea Way Simi Valley, 93065). BRING FOOD and a FRIEND!!

VOLLEYBALL THIS SAT NIGHT

We are playing volleyball THIS SAT NIGHT at 7:30 pm at the NPAA gym, come out to play and bring a friend.

TUESDAY AND FRIDAY YOUNG ADULT SMALL GROUPS!!

Come be connected with each other through one of our young adult small groups. We have two going right now, one that meets on Fridays and one on Tuesdays.

Friday night is hosted by Brent and Simone Buttler (909) 528-3883, and meets at 7 pm in Simi Valley and the other meets every Tuesday at Panera Bread in the Janss Marketplace. Contact Randall Goulard if you'd like to be a part of this one (707) 227-9845. It's a great way to be connected with other people who are seeking to know God and to love each other!

SAVE THE DATE

On the afternoon of Sabbath Dec. 10th we'll be heading back to the Westlake Healthcare Center but this time we'll be putting on a Christmas program/party (Yes, Christmas season is already upon us!) Stay tuned for more details but if you have something to share (music, a christmas poem or story etc) then please plan to be in the program. But we need EVERYONE to help us with decorating, food and just bringin Christmas cheer to the folks there, they will love it! Dec. 10 at 3 pm!
