Christmas Shoppe This Week
Christmas Shoppe
is happening this week and we need volunteers! If you would like to
volunteer to set up for the Christmas Shoppe tonight or Friday night
(tomorrow night, December 8- 9th) or help with the actual Christmas
Shoppe on Sabbath, December 10th, please contact Debby Moon @ 805-689-1293.
This is a wonderful program benefitting families in Ventura County who
would otherwise not be able to provide presents for their kids.
Outreach This Sabbath Afternoon
This Sabbath
afternoon, December 10th, we'll be heading back to the Westlake
Healthcare Center but this time we'll be putting on a Christmas
program/party. If you have something to share (music, a Christmas poem
or story) then please plan to be in the program. We do need EVERYONE to
help with decorating, food, and just bringing Christmas cheer to the
folk there...they will LOVE it! Mark your calendars, December 10th at 3

Flag Football This Sunday
It's
football season so we are playing!! Just about every Sunday at the NPAA
field (180 Academy Dr. Newbury Park 91320). You don't have to be good,
just come have fun and be ready to run!! 10:30 am...be there!! Contact

Volunteers? We would love for you to help with...
We would love to have you participate in minisry at The Place. Here are some ways to get involved!
Card Ministry - sending birthday cards 2 or 3 months during the coming year.
Personnel Ministry - we need more
volunteers willing to serve on this committee. We meet once a quarter or
as needed to assist the various ministry leaders find volunteers.
Deacons - we could use one or two more team leaders plus helpers.
If you have other ideas or ways you would like to be involved in ministry, please contact Pastor Simon.
Christmas Celebration & Fellowship Luncheon-Next Sabbath
Please join us for our Christmas celebration and fellowship
lunch next Sabbath December 17th. Our service will include wonderful
music, drama, worship and the celebration of the birth of Jesus. We
invite you to stay after church as there will be a fellowship lunch
hosted by the Women's ministry lead by Natasha Geigle. This month's
theme is haystacks; the women's ministry will bring the beans, please
bring something to go along with haystacks, thanks!
Prayer Ministry - Do you want to pray or be prayed for?
Our
prayer ministry would like to pray for you! Do you have a request or
praise that you would like to share with the team? If so, we invite you
to stay after church and get prayed over or to pray over someone else.

Baja Fresh Donates to The Place - ANY day at any time!!
Eat
at Baja Fresh in Newbury Park and they will donate 25% of the cost of
your meal to The Place. There are flyers on the outside tables at church
for you to take and present when placing your order. This applies to
any meal on any day. Thank you Baja Fresh!
Women's Ministry
The
Place Women's Ministry is sponsoring our Fellowship Lunch of Haystacks
for Sabbath December 17th after our special Christmas program at The
Place. If you would like to help please see Natasha Geigle for details
and watch the CCB for more information.
Our
next Women's Ministry Monday Night Meeting is the 2nd and 4th week of
January, January 9 and January 23, 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary of
The Place. Ladies of all ages are invited to come and join us for
worship and fellowship!

year's West Coast Worship Conference, February 2-4, 2012 at the
Adventist Media Center, is designed to help you maneuver through the
maze of advances in social media, high tech gadgets, and shorter and
shorter attention spans as you seek to connect God with those who come
to worship.

Christmas Events
Please mark your calendars for these Christmas events:
Christmas
Communion vespers - Friday, Dec. 23rd at 6:30 p.m. at The Place. Come
and celebrate with Christmas carols and worship together as we celebrate
the birth of Jesus.
New Years Eve Party - Saturday, Dec. 31st. Stay tuned for details.
Adventure/Small Groups
We
will be starting new adventure groups and small groups in January. Are
you interested in doing something creative to share your life and Jesus
with others? If you have an idea for an adventure or small group, let's
talk. Please contact Pastor John for more details.
Men's Ministry
All
men are invited to come out for "Guys Night Out" next Wednesday night,
December14th to Geoff Gaines' home in Simi Valley (3192 N. Sycamore
Dr. ) The men will be playing laser tag (Geoff has ALL the equipment!)
and having dinner. The fun starts at 6:30 p.m. Please contact Pastor
Simon if you have questions.
NPAA Mission Trip
We're so
excited because this year our Mission Trip is to Costa Rica, and group
of 45 students from NPAA is working hard to raise the funds for this
project. Each of them need to sell 20 discounts cards by December 16th,
and we need your help. We are using the The
Samaritan Card, which is a valuable shopping discount card that gives
you access to thousands of coupons and discounts of up to 50% off at
more than 100,000 merchants nationwide, for instance:
· Dining deals at local and national restaurant chains
· Travel discounts on airfare, hotel, and more
· Grocery coupons redeemable at any grocery store
· Save on automobile repair and tires
· Private online shopping coupon codes
· Discount on movie tickets and theme parks
You can help
us by donating $20 for a card, and also taking some cards and offering
them to your contacts, so our students can reach their goal and go to
Costa Rica. See one of the NPAA students at the end of the service this
